Farhan Alam’s “Saawan” is undoubtedly a great piece of work. After making Pakistan proud, the film is now available at Netflix. The film had won ‘Best Foreign Language Feature’ at The Madrid International Film Festival as well as two awards at the ‘Social World Film Festival’ in Italy and also the ‘Best Foreign Film Award’ at the Alexandria Film Festival in Virginia, USA.
Saawan is based on a true story of a disabled boy, who lives in a valley in the mountains of Baluchistan. Upon being outcast from society and left to die in the wilderness, this boy strengthened by memories and dreams of the love of his mother, embarks on a journey to connect with his family.
