“Inflation On The Rise With New Dimensions”

Inflation is one of the most triggering factors being focused on by the federal government of Pakistan as it is having an impact all over the country now. The drastic increase in prices of the daily use commodities has made the general public raise their worry and anger.

As the country has been under lockdown since the start of the global pandemic of the novel coronavirus, which is a global issue now.

Many companies and employees around the world have gone bankrupt and the level of unemployment has also increased rapidly within the few months after the start of the pandemic.

For Pakistan’s residents, fiscal year 2020 was the worst year as they witnessed highest inflation in the world forcing policy makers to increase interest rate.

High prices and inflation has become a menace and, a big issue as many people have committed suicide or have gone under great stress due to the lack of finances to meet their household and office expenses.

In a recent statement, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan stated that:

“The country cannot afford lockdown again,”

After a Cabinet meeting, he was presiding over was briefed on the COVID-19 situation across the nation.

Moreover, PM Imran Khan said the second wave of the deadly coronavirus was spreading rapidly throughout the world and cases in Pakistan were also shooting up.

“God Almighty has been very kind to Pakistan; we have made wise decisions and God has been gracious,” he said.

For preventive measures, the government had started the implementation of a “micro-smart lockdown” strategy under which very small localities like buildings with multiple housing units and street-level areas with more than 2 positive cases will be targeted instead of wider areas.
