While the entire nation lauded their cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for wearing shalwar kameez on meeting the Queen of England before the opening ceremony of Cricket World Cup 2019, there were hate mongers who tried their best to troll him. However, for some, it backfired almost instantly and that too from across the border.
Author and columnist Tarek Fatah, wanted to troll Sarfaraz Ahmed for wearing the Pakistani traditional shalwar kameez. He took to his twitter to comment,
“Captains of #cricket playing nations competing 4 the #CricketWorldCup had a photoshoot with the Queen. Guess who came dressed in his pyjamas? None other than the #Pakistan captain (back row, left). Take a look at him in the other pic. How does one country produce…? #CricketWC
Not actually coming to Sarfaraz’s rescue but stating he could chose to wear whatever he pleased and looked good in, Indian host, VJ and actress, Gauhar Khan, supported Ahmed in an open stance on Twitter.
Replying to Tarek Fateh and calling him a hate spreading machine, Gauhar wrote, “He is representing his culture, n looking v handsome in that! Every human being has a right to wear what he does, with dignity n pride! But I guess u wouldn’t know anything about belonging or representing, as u have identity crisis urself! #hatespreadingmachine”
