Bollywood renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah arrived in Lahore on November 20th to participate in the on going “Faiz International Festival”.
The famous 66 year old bollywood actor accompanied by his dear wife, Ratna Pathak and seven members delegation.
While talking to the media, he mentioned that he came here to rekindle the relations between Pakistan and India. Moreover, he has visited Pakistan especially to pay tribute to the Revolutionary poet “Faiz Ahmed Faiz” who himself was a huge supporter of peace between the two neighbours.
“Such opportunities are great for the artistic change”, the actor said.
“I have always received immense love and happiness in Lahore and itis true that the people of both countries are the same. Artists from both sides have previously played an important role in strengthening bilateral ties and this process needs to be restarted”, he further added.
During the festival, Shah will be performing four shows of his play. A famous Indian film producer and a great poet “Muzaffar Ali” who will also participate in this festival along with Shah. Renowned Indian singer “Sonam Kalea” and a Pakistani singer “Tina Sani” are also taking part in this festival and will be performing live.
It’s a four day festival in which, four theatre performances, a grand poetry session (from both the countries) will be held.
Five book launches, thirty literary discussions, five musical and two dances performances will also take place.
Shah paid visit to Faiz’s house, he was welcomed by his grandson and a renowned Pakistani Actor, Adeel Hashmi and by his daughters Muniza Hashmi and Saleema Hashmi.
