With the popularity of Dirilus Ertugrul, we wouldn’t be surprised if Pakistan’s entertainment industry felt inspired to create something similar.
Perhaps that’s why when rumours started floating about that Humayun Saeed is working on a Pakistani adaptation, many weren’t surprised. Although judging by the reactions, most weren’t pleased either.
But were the rumours true? Team Images got in touch with Humayun Saeed who clarified, “No, we are not making a remake of Ertugrul.”
However, the actor did share that he had seen the drama around two years ago and had thought about making a historical drama. With the drama airing on PTV and becoming an instant hit, he became sure and is now working on the serial.
According to Saeed, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar will write the script while he will produce it along with ARY’s Salman Iqbal.
As the project is in it’s early stage, nothing else has been finalised. However, Humayun hopes this will be Pakistan’s grandest drama.
