Farida Khanum needs no introduction. What could be more defining of her success and impact around the world, than the fact that the legendary Pakistani Classical singer from Punjab was titled as Malika-e-Ghazal by The Times of India. In order to honour her services for the world of Ghazal, and bringing Pakistan on the landscape of Ghazal Music, 5th HUM Awards honoured the legendary singer with the “Lifetime Achievement Award”.
CEO Hum Network Sultana Siddiqui rightly titles the music legend, as she definitely; “has no need for an award; it’s Hum who is honoured by her accepting our award.”
Accepting the love that she has been showered with, and the accolade that she has been presented with, Farida Khanum obligingly sang few lines which were requested to her by the audience.
Reema Khan who was also at the stage to present her award shared the video on Instagram:
Thank you Farida Khanum for all the barriers that you have overcome to make Pakistan recognizable on the musical arena around the world. A simple award like this can never honour the legends, but Hum did its best to play a part in doing so.
