Repeating clothes is not looked forward to these days but I strongly believe that clothes should be recycled and not just given away after styling them twice or thrice. For example, heavy formals are paid for a lot but sadly, they are not reused much because you cannot repeat the same outfit time and again.
In my opinion, when you have invested on something you should make full use of it. I am not just talking about heavy or semi formals here but day to day clothing as well. Recycling your clothes does not mean cutting and stitching them into other clothes – that you can do too, but it means wearing it time and again with different styles and patterns. For example, if you have 3 different shirts and 3 pairs of jeans, it does not mean that you have only 3 outfits in all. You can style those 6 pieces of apparel into 9 different outfits and furthermore, style them differently each time you wear them.
For men, do not be afraid to experiment with colours and different patterns. Always make sure to have basic suits in your closet. Black, blue, brown, tan and grey can be your go to. Some basic solid shirts and some patterned shirts can add up to a lot many outfits in your wardrobe for different occasions. If you want to carry a formal attire for work you can pair up your suits with any shirt of your liking and if you want it a bit casual, you can opt out the blazer. Polo shirts can also be worn with pants or jeans for a semi-formal look that can carry to luncheons or timeout with friends and family.
When it comes to women, for a fact, we can never have enough clothes but then again, the ones we have are never utilized properly. Co ord sets, kurtas, formals and semi formals, shirts and t shirts, we have a lot to work up with. Co ord sets can be worn separately, kurtas can be styled with plain pants or colourful shalwars depending on the cuts and colours. Shirts can be paired up with different pants for work or hangouts. A normal buttoned down shirt can be styled in more than 4 different ways. Same goes for your formal clothes, you can always mix and match or create a fusion between your eastern and western clothes and add up some statement jewelry pieces to complete the look.
Never just throw away your clothes that you have only worn a few times but try to experiment with the whole attire as per your choice and taste- mix and match supremacy forever!
