5 easy steps to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s all-black smoky eye.
There are a number of tutorials out there which will help you achieve a smoky eye look and they would recommend you to buy and hoard multiple eyeshadow kits, however you can also create it with just a single eye shadow. You can see Sonam Kapoor’s makeup look created on her by artist Joey Choy. She had kohl rimmed eyes with hazy edges and for all that only one eyeshadow was needed which was super pigmented. Her eyes are dark but Choy did a remarkable job at balancing them out with a minimal color on the rest of the face, nothing overboard. She then had a slick top knot which went perfectly with the entire look.
If you want to get that look, simply follow these steps:
- First off, you should start with light, weightless and luminous base. You can opt for a tinted moisturizer or any water based foundation, it will give you the desired results. Use a concealer that has a very natural finish for eg NARS Radiant creamy concealer. You can cover problematic areas with it and set your face with a translucent powder.
- Next, pick a very jet black, water and smudge proof eyeshadow. You can opt for Nudestix magnetic matte eye color in the shade night and can trace the upper lash. It will really give you a very subtle yet hot look. You need to smudge it, that’s the key. Make sure there are no fine lines, it needs to appear super perfect. Now with a small blending brush this task is relatively easier, so do try it. Keep adding the color till you get the desired look and try to keep the color very close to your lashes otherwise it will be a real mess. Later just put a little matte black powder eyeshadow in the waterline, over the cream so that it doesn’t smudge.
- Curl your lashes and the more coats you add the more it voluminizes. But make sure you don’t over smudge it. use an eyebrow pencil to shade and define the brows and then apply a clear gel to it so that they are held in place all the time.
- Creamy products give a very good result. Cream contour products in contour like KIKO Milano’s sculpting touch creamy stick contour would give you such a perfect and gentle shadow on your cheekbones and face. Then add a touch of matte pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and it will make you appear so fresh and glow-y.
- Lastly, add a sheer lipstick like Dior addict lip glow in the shade 008 ultra-pink. And then you can also add a second coat if you want which will give you a little more color and shine.
