It may be October, but the first nominations for the Oscars are already in. Thirty-two animated films have been submitted to the Academy and of those names, five will be selected. The 2020 Oscar nominations will be announced on January 13, 2020, and now is the time where the best of the best are submitted where they will then be voted on. Oscar-voting for nominations will take place from January 2, 2020, through January 7, 2020.

Several of the submitted films are either expected to do or are already doing extremely well with U.S. audiences. Several of these include The Addams Family, Frozen II, Toy Story 4, and Spies in Disguise.
The Addams Family stars Charlize Theron as Morticia Addams, Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday Addams, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley Addams, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, and Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams.
Toy Story 4 stars Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom, Christina Hendricks as Gabby Gabby, Tom Hanks as Woody, Bill Hader as Axel the Carnie, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and Jordan Peele as Bunny.
Frozen II is an early favorite and stars Jason Ritter as Ryder, Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, Evan Rachel Wood as Iduna, and Josh Gad as Olaf. Frozen II hits theaters on November 22, 2019.
Finally, Spies in Disguise comes out on Christmas day and is another early prediction to land an Oscar nomination. The movie stars Will Smith as Lance Sterling, Tom Holland as Walter Beckett, Karen Gillan as Eyes, Rachel Brosnahan as Gidget Garcia.
