HBO is now home to a Game of Thrones spin-off series, House of the Dragon. The cable network announced on Tuesday that it has ordered 10 episodes of Game of Thrones prequel from George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal based on Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood’ series.

According to CNN, The show is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the House of Targaryen.

Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, was a major character in the mothership series, which became a global phenomenon before it ended its eight-season run in May this year.

The network announced the new series at an event intended to stir enthusiasm for HBO Max, a streaming service that will launch in May 2020 at $15 per month to compete with Netflix and Walt Disney.

According to Guardian, HBO has reportedly cancelled another GoT series that starred Naomi Watts.
