HANISH QURESHI Emerging Talent Of The Month

A Stylist At 7th Sky Entertainment, In Conversation With Fhm Pakistan

HANISH QURESHI IS MY FULL NAME. SINCE IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO PRONOUNCE, PAPA GAVE ME A NICK NAME THAT IS DERIVED FROM THE MEANING OF MY NAME ITSELF ‘HONEY’. TURNED 22 THIS FEBRUARY 14TH. DOING BACHELORS IN FASHION AND DESIGN FROM ASIAN INSTITUTE OF FASHION AND DESIGN (IQRA UNIVERSITY CLIFTON CAMPUS). VERY FRIENDLY, BUT SENSITIVE AND AN EXTREME FOODIE THAT YOU CAN EASILY TELL…

FAYSAL QURESHI AS FATHER IS A VERY DIFFERENT PERSON;

UNLIKE TYPICAL FATHER HE’S MORE LIKE A FRIEND…

FHM: What inspired you the most that made you become a makeup artist?

HQ: Makeup has always been in to my streams, I remember being a child I always used to wear all that Makeup and steal it from my mama’s Vanity box. And guess what? She’s my big time inspiration for opting this art, because she herself is a professional Makeup artist in Lahore. To pursue my dreams as my career further she’s always bucking me up like any other loving mother would do. Truly a blessing to have such parents.

FHM: Why are you not into acting? Since your father and grandmother both are in this field.

HQ: Well that is too mainstream for every celebrity’s daughter/son to become an actor, making your own self with a different talent unless I could maintain the level of their standard that I believe is so not possible. I LOVE ACTING. But I’m definitely not going to opt it for my career. Because it’s not a piece of cake, and I don’t consider myself a perfect fit.

FHM: How would you describe Faisal Qureshi as a father?

HQ: Faysal Qureshi as Father is a very different person; unlike typical father he’s more like a friend who gave me that comfort zone in which I can discuss whatever I want to without hesitating keeping the level of respect in mind that he is my father. Whether I decide on taking step in my career or its about any other thing related to our personal lives, he always let me take right decisions, and whenever I’m fluctuating on the wrong path, he’s there to stop me. I’m surprised at times how he manages everything, truly my superhero!

FHM: What kind of makeup do you prefer in summers?

HQ: Summer means sweat, HOT and oh not so friendly. So makeup has to be on point with natural, light + bronzy and breathable. So many brands has launched breathable foundation that are in form of foam and sprays or sheer liquid and use powders, whether its bronzing up your face, contouring or setting your makeup so it is able to absorb the oils, and use minimal amount of other products such as light shades of whites, blues, greens silvers for eye shadows/pencils and pink, coral satin lipsticks. I’m surprised how girls clog their pores with heavy coverage foundations all day long just to cover imperfections, please let your skin breath in this heat wave girl! Firstly, you need to have confidence on yourself! Makeup in any weather is about enhancing your own features rather than transforming in to a new person. Secondly, don’t forget to lighten up your face with all those highlighters because that is just too good for a perfect summer look. Don’t forget to carry oil absorbent papers!

FHM: What are the projects you’re working on right now and what’s next?

HQ: Right now I’m working with this Serial Noor e Zindagi directed by Siraj ul Haq  by 7th Sky Productions starring Aisha Khan and Jibran Syed as main lead  and some promotional shoots.  Next up are a few projects, yet to be decided what should I opt for as per a challenge for myself.

FHM: If not a stylist then what?

HQ: If not a stylist then an Artist! I love painting.

Rapid Fire!
FHM: If you were going to write a book, what would you call it and what would it be about?

HQ: Why am I so stupid?

FHM: What’s one of the scariest things you’ve ever done?

HQ: Signed a theatre project without permission.

FHM: Your goals in life?

HQ: To be known as a Pakistani stylist around the world.

FHM: What’s the first thing you notice about people?

HQ: Shoes!

FHM: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

HQ: Being a celeb daughter is not easy.

FHM: What color so you have the most in your wardrobe?

HQ: pink

FHM: Coffee or tea?

HQ: Coffee

FHM: What is your essential while traveling?

HQ: Makeup!
