Gucci to show spring 2019 collection at Théâtre Le Palace in Paris!

PARIS: Gucci’s love affair with France continues, following the news that the Italian fashion house will hold its next runway show in a Parisian theatre.

The luxury label will showcase its Spring/Summer 2019 collection in the city’s Théâtre Le Palace during Paris Fashion Week on September 24, WWD reports. The move marks the first time that the location, a former nightclub, will host a catwalk show.

“The Théâtre Le Palace resonates with the vision of the house as it is a venue that gave life to a (sub)culture that has inspired young generations up until today,” the brand revealed via an Instagram post.

Under the guidance of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Gucci has rolled out a three-part homage to France of late, beginning with an ad campaign recreating the 1968 student protests in Paris. In May, the house opted for a historic cemetery in the French town of Arles as the location for its Gothic-inspired Cruise Collection 2019 show that saw models walking down a flaming catwalk by night, to arresting effect. It was also in May that Gucci confirmed it would skip Milan Fashion Week this fall in favor of Paris, as a one-off occurrence.
