Amid a full-blown emotional toll and flu, legendary actor Tom Hanks accepted his lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes 2020.
“It’s the cold that is making this happen. I swear to God, I’m not nearly this emotional at home. A man is blessed with a family sitting down the front like that — a wife who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is,”
“Five kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is. And, uh, a loving group of people who have put [up] with me being away months and months and months at a time,” he said.
Regardless, the Forest Gump actor had an emotional moment as he accepted Cecil B. DeMille Award for what is termed as a contribution to the industry over his career span. His emotions mainly jumped in when he mentioned his wife Rita Wilson and children who all attended the event.
There’s no crying in baseball, but there is crying during acceptance speeches.

Tom was also nominated for Best Supporting actor at the 76th Golden Globes ceremony, however, it was Brad Pitt who took the trophy home.
