The lingerie brand Victoria Secret’s annual fashion show is to take place in Shanghai, China, on 20th of November. Sadly, Gigi Hadid will not be walking for the show. She confirmed this on twitter saying:
I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! 🙂 x

While Hadid did not disclose the reason she can’t make it, according to multiple sources she had to cancel after being denied a Visa into the country after she seemingly made fun of Buddha on an Instagram story earlier this year. In the video, Hadid is squinting her eyes to imitate Buddha’s face on a cookie she’s holding up. Not long after the video was posted, Hadid issued an apology on social media.
“It hurts me to hurt anyone, and I want you all to know that it was never my intent to offend anyone through my actions and I sincerely apologise to those who were hurt or felt let down by me,” she wrote. “I have the utmost respect and love for the people of China and cherish the incredible memories I have made while visiting in the past. I have learned to be very careful of how my actions can come off or be portrayed and I’m hopeful you’ll accept my apology.”
