Argentine football star Lionel Messi has recently tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart in his hometown in what has been called the ‘wedding of the century‘.
The wedding ceremony for Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo was held at a luxury hotel in the city of Rosario.
Following the private ceremony the couple appeared happy and relaxed as they walked the red carpet, while Roccuzzo dazzled in a tight mermaid-style gown by the Spanish designer Rosa Clara.
Several football stars and celebrities also attended the ceremony, among the 260 guests, with hundreds of police deployed for the event.
Reportedly, Messi met his childhood sweetheart Roccuzzo as a child before he moved to Spain aged just 13.
Moreover, it has been revealed that there were several guests who flew to Rosario on private jets.
Among the guests at Friday’s wedding were Messi’s Barcelona teammates Luis Suárez, Neymar, Gerard Piqué and his wife, Colombia’s pop star Shakira.
