Fitoor A portrayal of toxic masculinity and misogyny

Drama serial fitoor starring Faysal Qureshi, Hiba Bukhari & Wahaj Ali recently reached its end after a whooping number of 47 episodes.  The storyline portrays that if you have suspicions or cheating allegations from your partner the way you can get revenge is by cheating on them as a comeback.

The drama was a clear portrayal of toxic masculinity and misogyny, as the husband roaming around with his ex is totally acceptable by the society but when it comes to the wife’s past it is not acceptable and she is judged and cursed upon to an extent that she becomes rebellious.  Fitoor caught our interest in the first few episodes but the story could not retain its quality and became too complexed. I personally feel the drama was not a good example for our society and very conveniently validated cheating and extra marital affairs.

Having said that the cast has outdone itself and left a mark of excellence with their performances.
