Back in 2019, Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment but it died out soon after she could not prove the allegations. But it did not end there! Yesterday the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) special court registered an FIR against Meesha Shafi and nine others on the accusation of running a social media campaign against Ali Zafar.
The people included in the FIR other than Meesha were Iffat Omar, Lena Ghani, Fareeha Ayub, Mahim Javed, Ali Gul Pir, Haseem Zaman Khan, Hamna Raza and Syed Faizan Raza have been nominated in the FIR.
Meesha Shafi had first accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment on Twitter. In November 2018, Ali Zafar had protested against the social media campaign against him to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing and lodged a complaint.
He also pointed out the twitter account which shared obscene words and pictures against Ali Zafar and his family was created only 50 days before Meesha’s accusation. Other than this, when Ali Zafar tweeted to lodge a complaint to FIA, the accounts accusing Zafar were terminated.
The investigations had been going on for around two years now where the agency had given the accused to prove themselves. However, they either did not appear before the FIA or record their statement.
