Faryal Makhdoom has stated that stay-at-home parents should be paid more than a surgeon or a lawyer, arguing that how she’s the ‘CEO of the house’.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain to debate whether stay-at-home parents should be paid a wage.
Speaking to hosts Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway Faryal argued: “Us staying home we’re working like 90 hours a week.
“We’re not just looking after our children but the entire house, the CEO of the house is not getting paid. It’s like laundry, cooking, cleaning looking after your children.
“And I think that when you put it all together we should get paid more than like a surgeon or a lawyer, it adds up to £100,000 a year, more than that.”
However, Amelle argued that having children is a choice adding: “If you choose to have children, you should bring your children up with love, I just can’t see it as a job.”
