An exclusive tête-à-tête with Shaista Lodhi

FHM: Tell us about your success story?
SL: I think consistency, dedication towards my goals and especially the love I get from my family and fans is something that keeps me going, which also helps me meet all challenges.

FHM: What are the three positive things about hosting a morning show?
SL: You become a household on which a woman relies on how you carry your attire, what you wear and advise them. We thus, become a trend setter for them all.

FHM: Explain the time you took an initiative as a morning show host? How do you keep yourself and your teammates motivated?
SL: I think there is so much competition in the market with every growing channel. Having forty channels and forty different morning shows, there is already a team and competition going on, so I really don’t have to motivate them. But yes, if you don’t get the desired rating, your team does get demoralized.

FHM: What has been your biggest achievement in the field of media?
SL: My fans’ love and their respect is the biggest achievement I have availed in this field till date.

FHM: Describe the most difficult schedule problem you have faced as a morning show host?
SL: When I do morning shows, it means I have to sacrifice my time, schedule, sleep and especially the time I miss with my kids; and that is what I hate the most about hosting a morning show. Our young generation mothers say that quality doesn’t matter, but I believe sometimes it is important as it plays a great role.

FHM: Do you work well under pressure?
SL: Yes, I think I do. I like challenges and put myself in challenging situations. I believe that these panic attacks and tantrums should be restricted to you only your family and work should not be affected by it.

FHM: How have you gone about making important decisions in your life?
SL: I am a very quick in making decisions, sometimes impulsive as well but you change with time and maturity. Until and unless you don’t experience anything, you don’t learn the lessons of life that enable you to grow. So yes, I don’t overthink I just think and do it.

FHM: What’s some advice you would give to someone aspiring to become a part of media industry?
SL: Just believe in yourself. You should have your own style and should be comfortable in your skin instead of following trend setters. We have become such exterior driven nation that we don’t look at people’s personality, we just judge them by the way they dress and carry themselves.

FHM: How do you manage your personal and professional life?
SL: I don’t think I will ever be able to manage that, but yes, I do try to give time to my children and family if I don’t have any project in hand.
