Lux Style is the biggest award show in Pakistan and arguably the most controversial. Last year HSY, took over Lux Style Awards (LSA) from Frieha Altaf for the first time since its inception 16 years ago and now after HSY announced that he is not going to be the show director for this year’s event, ex-model Vaneeza Ahmed has taken over this harrowing task and honor.
“All I can say at this point is that the show is going to have a very different format although it’s still going to be characteristically sophisticated,” said Vaneeza.
This is just not it, Frieha Altaf, who, until last year, had been LSA’s longtime show director is also orchestrating two segments for the show. She will be bringing on board celebrities who will be discussing different issues, such as actor Ahsan Khan who has of late dedicated himself to speaking against child abuse.
According to a statement issued earlier by Unilever Marketing Director Raheel Pasha, this year’s show was going to bring focus on ‘social awakening’ and ‘stand in solidarity with the nation’ at this ‘critical time’.
This probably means that this time there will be little or no Bollywood-esque song and dance routines, in fact it will highlight social issues that every platform needs to work towards bringing about change.
