Child star Henry Thomas, famous to millions for playing the role as E.T.’s friends Elliott, has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
The actor, now 48, wished he’d gone home after police in Oregon found him slumped at the wheel. The Tualatin Police Department received a call from a motorist around 8.30pm reporting a vehicle stopped in the middle of a crossroad. When officers attended to the scene, they discovered Thomas passed out.
Tualatin PD told that Thomas’ vehicle was not moving and had apparently sat idle through multiple light cycles at an intersection.
After his star-making turn as the alien-loving Elliott in Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.,” Thomas has gone on to appear in several films and TV shows, including “11:14,” “Legends of the Fall,” “Cloak & Dagger” and, most recently, Netflix’s horror anthology series “The Haunting of Hill House.”
He’s set to star next in the upcoming thriller “Dreamkatcher,” which is in postproduction and scheduled for release in January. He also will play superhero doctor Charles McNider in DC Comics’ “Stargirl,” which is currently filming.
