Establish a flawless skin care routine with these steps!

Who doesn’t want glowing, radiant skin? While few are born with it, almost anyone can have beautiful skin by incorporating a variety of good habits when it comes to your skin care routine. Beyond applying trendy creams and lotions, nurturing your body with healthy habits will have a direct impact on the health of your skin. Using natural products, without harsh chemicals, can also enhance your skin’s appearance.

If you aren’t sure where to start, we’ve compiled our favorite natural skin care tips so you can establish an effective skin care routine at home:

Cleanse

Use a gentle, natural cleanser to remove makeup, dirt, and oils before bed and when you wake up in the morning.  We know face washing seems like a no brainer, but with the right methods you can prevent premature sagging and wrinkles.

Exfoliate

You should gently exfoliate your skin, sometimes daily. Dead skin cells stick to follicles, causing clogs and a dull appearance. Our Facial Brush Skin Cleansing System can gently remove impurities from your skin and stimulate skin renewal. Our Face Brush comes with four brush heads, a gentle face brush, medium face brush, body brush, and pumice stone, to keep your skin healthy from head to toe.

Apply Toner

A gentle toner is an optional step to clear makeup remover residue, heavy sunscreen, and any traces of a cleanser that may have been left behind. The right toner can also help the rest of your skin care products work more efficiently.

Use Moisturizer

Apply a natural moisturizer geared for your skin type to slightly damp skin. The moisturizer will lock the water into your skin, keeping it hydrated and soft.

Spot Treat Blemishes

Notice a pimple coming up? Spot treat blemishes with a little Tea Tree oil. You may need to dilute this before applying directly to your skin.

Meditate

Take a few minutes each morning to sit quietly. Meditation can calm the mind and reduce stress. When the body is stressed, it releases cortisol which can increase your skin’s oil production and cause pimples. Stress can also cause fine lines and wrinkles on your face.

Take a Warm Shower

Lukewarm water is the optimal temperature for your skin. Extreme water temperatures can irritate your skin. Use gentle hydrating cleansers to keep skin soft and supple.

Drink Water

Do you drink the recommended 8 glasses of water per day? Water keeps you hydrated and flushes toxins from your body. Make your own detox water by adding fruit, herbs, and/or cucumber to a pitcher of water and letting it steep. Detox water helps detoxify your cells and gives water a pleasant taste.

Get plenty of sleep

It’s called beauty rest for a reason: lack of sleep can cause skin to look sallow and dull. Skin produces collagen while you are sleeping, which cuts down on wrinkles. A good night’s sleep also reduces puffiness under the eye area.

Eat to Support your Skin

There are certain foods that help repair your skin, allow it to regenerate, and keep that healthy glow. Lean proteins and vitamin C help your body produce collagen. Dark leafy greens, brightly colored vegetables, and fruits are full of vitamins and anti-oxidants that help keep your skin vibrant and able to fight off damage from free radicals. Add in healthy fats, such as Omega 3s and olive oil, to keep skin hydrated and appear younger.
