Does ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?

As with the other live-action adaptations of classic Disney films, “Maleficent” felt like a one-off movie. But it wasn’t, apparently, and now we’ve got “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” a continuation of the Sleeping Beauty story that takes a little bit of inspiration from folklore but mostly carves its own path.

Regardless of whether you or we think a “Maleficent 2” makes sense, however, the fact remains that it does exist, and is in theaters right now. And with Disney turning this into a franchise and taking the whole thing in a crazy new direction, lots of folks are going to understandably wonder if there are more “Maleficent” movies in store.

And since this is a franchise now, you’re probably wondering if this movie does the franchise thing of teasing a potential future movie with a bonus mid-credits or post-credits scene.

While we cannot guess whether “Maleficent 3” will ever happen or not, but we can tell you that “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” does not contain any extra scenes during or after the credits. Once the movie ends and the credits begin, there’s no other content you need to stick around for.

That said, we do always encourage all moviegoers to stick around through the credits out of appreciation for all the hard work that brought what you just experienced to life. But if you gotta go, you gotta go.

“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” brings back a chunk of the cast from the first film: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Juno Temple, Imelda Staunton, and Lesley Manville. It adds Harris Dickinson, replacing Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ajiofor, Ed Skrein, David Gyasi and Robert Lindsay. It’s directed by Joachim Ronning.
