Dispelling Creativity Myths: Can You Handle the Truth?

Everybody is “NOT” creative.  It is a myth. I don’t hold this myth to be true. I believe that everyone has the capacity for creativity. Some people still haven’t used their creativity to its full potential. They claimed that unless you create something or solve a problem, you are not creative. I believe that everyone has the capacity to think of creative concepts.  It takes just as much work to come up with an idea as it does to make and complete a project.

Another false myth is that children are more creative than adults. I believe that adults are capable of developing more sophisticated concepts, complex notions and building techniques. However, I do believe children are creative. They have exceptional and unique ideas. This is primarily because they believe that everything, they create is unique and meaningful.

Creativity requires drive, patience, and careful thought. I agree that coming up with new ideas and actually creating them both take effort. A person cannot be creative if they do not make an effort to come up with an idea. While some may claim that ideas come to them in dreams, you must act on those ideas once you awaken. Creating the project is what takes the hard work.

A person needs knowledge, the ability to think creatively, and motivation to be creative. In my opinion, creativity involves possessing original ideas. To be creative, one only needs to be original; one does not need to be an expert. Being original and being creative are two different things. I do concur that some individuals have better ideas and are better suited to the lifestyle of an artist. Because they lack the drive and interest, some people do struggle with their creative abilities.

Work that isn’t acknowledged as creative isn’t creative. I’m really upset by this myth. Not everyone has the opportunity to be found. After they pass away and someone discovers their belongings, many artists become well-known. Many students are afraid to be open and display their talented work, so they keep their ideas and artwork to themselves but that does not mean that they are creative. I don’t believe you need to be well-known to be creative. Being recognized for your efforts and receiving praise is pleasant.

It’s perfectly fine if someone says you’re not creative. If you have a strong desire to do something great and end up making your complex idea a reality, you are undoubtedly creative. Be original in your approach. “NOT” being creative is a myth.
