Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated.
The 25 year old singer shared her strenuous battles that shaped her to be the woman she is now in a raw documentary. From addiction to heart shattering break ups Demi shares it all.
The singer then explained: The last decade has taught me a lifetime of lessons. I’ve learned that secrets make you sick, I’m learning how to be a voice and not a victim. I’ve learned that sex is natural. I’ve learned that love is necessary, heartbreak is unavoidable, and loneliness is brutal. I’ve learned that the key to being happy is to tell your truth and be OK without all the answers.
Lovato further explained, “growing up, I had been bullied in school,” saying she “felt like an outsider,” and “like an outcast,” but then she became friends with a girl who was popular. “One day, I asked her ‘how do you have all these friends?,’” Lovato noted, and the girl asked Lovato “do you party?”
Lovato explained, “She asked me, ‘Do you drink?,'” with Lovato saying that this was her first experience with drugs and alcohol, adding, “we experienced a lot of stuff together, drinking and using, and growing up.”
As nervous as she is about laying it all out for the world to see, she hopes and believes that it will help people overcome their failures if they know that they are not alone.
