Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has recently signed her next film after Padmavati and will be re-uniting with her Piku co-star Irrfan Khan, according to reports.
The actress collaborates with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj for the first time in her career. While sharing her excitement she said that it will be exciting yet challenging to work with him.
“I haven’t worked with him yet. So I can’t talk much. But as an audience, I can say it is fascinating to see the kind of films he does. As an actor, I would love to work with him. It will be extremely challenging and very exciting to work with him,” Deepika said.
In the film, Deepika is expected to play Mafia Queen’s character by the name of Rahima Khan, popularly known as Sapna Didi, while Irrfan will portray a local gangster, who falls for her and helps her in a mission to eliminate Dawood Ibrahim.
“Deepika has been asking me to write a script for her for a long time. She heard this script and loved it. We are in an advance stage of discussion with her,” Vishal Bhardwaj said in an interview.
The upcoming Bollywood flick will be co-produced by Mr Bhardwaj’s and will be directed by Honey Trehan.
On the professional front, Deepika is currently filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, features Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, and is scheduled to release on November 17.
