We have often seen glimpses of Deepika’s badass side in movies such as xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Ram Leela, and Bajirao Mastani, but this time, she is turning a don of the 80s in a fully fledged role for Vishal Bhardwaj’s biopic on Sapna Didi aka Rahima Khan.
The actor will play the character of a woman who sought revenge from one of the biggest real-life gangsters in India.
The film, which is based on based on journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, will also star Irffan Khan as Deepika’s love interest who will support her in her mission.
Their chemistry will definitely be a departure from what we saw of them in Piku and it’s exciting that Deepika is switching it up by attempting a dark role.
Sapna Didi is slated for release on October 2, 2018.
