Shahid Afridi and Javed Miandad were involved in an ugly spat due to the controversial statements issue. The latter had accused Shahid Afridi of match fixing, which enraged Afridi into taking matters to the court. Now, rumor has it that Dawood Ibrahim was the reason behind the sudden patch-up.
Afridi and Miandad went on national television to announce their friendship and end all differences. According to a website, siasat.com, it was Dawood Ibrahim who led the two towards reuniting on the media again.
As revealed; Dawood Ibrahim had threatened Shahid Afridi on a call. The call was, allegedly, made on October 12. To those who don’t know, Ibrahim’s daughter is married to the former cricket legend, Javed Miandad’s son.
There is no word whether the statement has an ounce of truth or not. It cannot be alleged, without any confirmation, that a cricketer as big as Shahid Afridi had been threatened to solve a spat. I cannot personally comment on the matter because it is not even credible, to say the least. All I want to say through this platform is that the news of Afridi being threatened has gone digitally viral across the border; so as a cricket fan it is my responsibility to rebuke this action of insulting a legend on an international platform without the confirmation of truth.
