David Beckham has taken a huge step to launch a Major League Soccer franchise in Miami, which will lead towards becoming a reality.
Reportedly, Beckham’s group had already purchased six acres of land next to the site for around $19 million in Miam’s overtown district.
The group has announced to build a 25,000 seat stadium on the site. Beckham’s group has said the cost of the stadium, which still needs to be approved by the city planners will be met by the private investors with no public funds included in the construction.
Tim Leikweke, the person behind who’s handling all the negotiations of the group, admitted that it was facing some ‘issues’.
“We’ve had bumps in the road,” Leikweke said.
However, the stadium proposed would not open until 2021, Leikweke told when meeting with the team.
