Court instructs Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his brother to refrain from posting any remarks on social media

Nawazuddin Siddiqui an outstanding actor of Bollywood has recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He has been accused by his wife over property dispute and his housekeeper of abandoning him in Dubai without pay or food. After his brother made what appear to be defamatory statements about the actor on social media, another issue has emerged. The actor documented a criticism suit, looking for Rs. 100 crores in punitive fees from his sibling Shamasuddin for posting abusive comments about the actor via virtual entertainment.

The Bombay High Court directed Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his brother Shamasuddin not to post or upload any remarks against each other on social media for the “sake of maintaining equity” and in light of efforts to amicably resolve issues between them. The bench directed the brothers to remain present in his chambers along with their lawyers on May 3 to explore the possibility of an amicable settlement.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s counsel said that since the actor and his wife are trying to resolve the issues amicably between them, he does not wish to pursue the defamation suit against her. Meanwhile, Advocate Rumi Mirza who is appearing for Nawazuddin’s brother, Shamasuddin informed that this settlement was possible due to the intervention of the division bench of the high court, and a similar settlement might be possible between the brothers.
