Earlier this week Zee5 announced 5-original Pakistani series and one of the series, Churails trailer released today. Churails is a Pakistani Zee5 original series by critically-acclaimed director Asim Abbasi releasing on 12th August. It’s a tale of four self-proclaimed “Churails” who runs a secret detective agency to expose cheating husbands amongst the city’s elite. As their journey continues, they become the savior of abused, harassed, and mistreated women.
It’s a 10 part series starring Sarwat Gillani Sara, a perfect wife, Yasra Rizvi as the wedding planner, Nimra Bucha as Batool, a murderer and Meharbano as the boxer. Other casts include Meher Jafri, Sarmad Khoosat, Sania Saeed & Omair Rana. The show represents four strong women just like Indian series Four more shots but Churail’s story revolves around a strong idea. These women are the “superheroes” who challenge the hypocrisy of patriarchal societies where women are not treated with equality.
Apart from a great cast, from storyline to set design, the trailer looks promising and we can’t wait for its premiere. And with Asim Abbasi’s previous film “Cake” everyone’s expectations are much higher. Hopefully, these series embark a level for the Pakistani digital scene.
