Birth of a baby have a special place in the hearts of loved one. Their little hands, soft skin, glance of smile and innocence bring bundle of joy. Babies are the bundle of happiness which Allah blessed with. No babies and only adults would sound awkward. Sadly, the world we are living in does not handle ice-creams and chocolates to see the smiles on innocent faces but give them such memories which leave a mark in their little hearts for lifetime. Peace, love and compassion does not walk hand in hand.
Flash forward let’s follow a story named a Fabulous Five Fellows. All joyous and excited family member was eagerly waiting to welcome the newborn. A baby has arrived. “He so looks like his father. Raja beta, he is. “A statement made by baby’s uncle. Years pass by and this young boy named Hamza Ali starts his pre-primary education. He was the brightest kids amongst his classmates. Hamza Ali was a positive, self-confident and was brough up with all love and care. Life seems good. Until one day Hamza’s parents were called by his principal for a meeting. It was observed in the initial session of Taekwondo that Hamza was unable to put the same amount of pressure from both the hands despite trying several times. An appointment with an orthopedist revealed Hamza’s condition called Erbs Palsy that causes muscle atrophy restricting full movement of the hand. This disease is caused when the baby is mishandled by the nurses while delivering normally, usually these types of cases occur when baby is healthy and good in size. While mishandling the nerves are damaged from neck to shoulder. Mr. and Mrs. Osama got angry and upon inquiring they found that this disease can be recovered. Thus, Hamza’s family decided to fight with this disease by taking sessions.
As years passed, Hamza started his primary education. Confidence being the dominant personality trait of Hamza helped him make many friends. They all had secrets. School kids and Teenager holds the biggest secrets that no one knows. School over, misery over. But the damage and hurt remains ever green. Every kid is fighting a battle in their own life which make their eyes wet and hearts broken.
Hamza and his four best friends named their group The Fabulous Five Fellows. Time for sharing their secrets. Hamza was called names- “toota-haath” being the most common of all other names. Then there was Noor- a very nice but shy girl with just four friends. She was dark toned. This made her rejected for friendship by others in the school. Third member of the squad was a brother of four sisters hence called Raees. Nobody wanted to have a ride in his Suzuki Mehran. Aalo ka paratha was what the other friend of the group, Aaliyah, used to bring for lunch breaks. It was because her obesity which other students used to made fun of. Ghazi was the last in the squad who was born in a business family. Ghazi had two homes, two cars, two caretakers and sadly two fathers and two mothers. His biological parents had separated, sharing his custody. “God has blessed me twice by giving me 2 houses to live” this used to be his statement when his friends used to ask him about his parents being separated.
In the same way there are thousands of kids like those of Fabulous Five Fellows. Their number is growing exponentially and so is their grief. Their weaknesses, Unstable financial condition, physical appearance, hygiene factor overrules their passion, hard work and dedication.
Bullying a kid in his or her initial stage leaves a lifetime impact in their life which only brings pain and hurt their feeling when they call. This must be stopped because children are the future of any nation. Accepting one the way he is, not forcing others to change to get admired by the society would make all the difference. The way a kid looks, walks, studies and is faced with physical, mental or financial challenges has a reason to it. The battle that every kid is going through is tough which no one knows. Help and accept others’ journeys so that this world truly becomes an amazing place where love, kindness, harmony and peace prevail.
