Bride gets criticism for using inappropriate prop

The wedding season is in its full swing in Pakistan; it starts around November and goes right into the New Year, breathlessly pausing for one night for parties on the New Year, dancing in red on the Valentine’s Day in February, and gracefully waltzing into March. Pakistan is country where marriage is considered the most important day in the life of an adult, wedding ceremonies are a huge deal and spread over many days, and where there is no nightlife outside private parties and get-togethers, it is hardly a surprise to see the transformation of a personal event into an extravaganza where the emphasis is on the superficial and the glittery.

Owing to the new social media trends and in competition to get viral everyone wants their wedding to be the best and surprisingly also viral on social media even though in my opinion wedding should be a private and personal event in a person’s life. Recently a couple went viral on social media for the bride pointing a gun on the grooms head just for fun. Where many believed it was funny netizens did not approve of it and bombarded the feed with criticism.

Famous wedding photographer Abdul Samad Zia shared the pictures and video where the bride was laughing as she holds a toy gun at the groom’s head and he signs the Nikkah papers.  People are however, not finding this fun and find this insensitive.
