“Blue Whale Suicide Game” is the new game on social media that has led to the death of 130 teenagers in Russia, and according to reports it is now making way to the UK. Mostly the teenagers are involved in this game and are committing suicide.
This game involves players who are controlled by a master who makes them do tasks every day for 50 days. According to reports, those who took their lives and had completed smaller challenges in the game were then forced to kill themselves. The horrific tasks include self-harming, watching horror movies and waking up at unusual hours, but these gradually get more extreme and worse.
To complete each challenge, users are ordered to send photographic evidence back to the game creators as proof, or they will send threats. Once you are in the game, your ID is hacked and you are then unable to leave the game, and the admin can access all your details.
One of the victim shared his experience of going through this game:
Woodlands School in Basildon sent a letter to parents stating: “We have discovered a game through the police that we feel you should be aware of. It is called The Blue Whale Game and is played via many social media platforms. No deaths in Britain have been linked to the game, but police officers have posted online warnings to parents.”
Devon and Cornwall Police PCSO Kirsty Down tweeted: “Whoever created this horrible game is sick! “Parents: Please be aware of this ‘game’ talk to your children about it if concerned.”
What??!
Who ever created this horrible game is sick!
Parents: Please be aware of this “game” talk to your children about it if concerned? https://t.co/B2j9aS5UdT— PCSO Kirsty Down D&C (@SaltashPCSO) March 9, 2017
This is something very horrific. It’s a request to everyone to keep an eye on their children to what they are doing on social media and with whom they are talking to. Keep an aye on your daughters especially as they are very sensitive about their personal things and mostly the suicidal attempts are done by females.
