All of the best looks from Milan Spring Fashion Week 2019

By: Bilal Chaudhary

Milan is famous for powerhouses like Gucci, Prada and mixed with some trendy and high fashion mixture of Moschino .

See if Italians really do it better…

Moschino – SPRING/SUMMER 2019 READY-TO-WEAR

’80s couture—think vintage Yves Saint Laurent’ Moschino’s Jeremy Scott knows how to have fun with fashion—and this season was no exceptio. There were suits and dresses colored in with Sharpie-like squiggles and dots inspired by design patterns.

There were puff sleeves and sketched wide brim hats topping off the paper doll-like looks. And in the mix, there was Bella Hadid in a stunning sheer naked gown, looking straight out of a 1980s fashion campaign. It was quirky, fun, and unexpected—all the things we’ve come to love Moschino for.

Above all, it seems this coveted young market everyone is talking about craves a sense of authenticity in fashion: an artisanal approach, an honest statement, and something to remember.

Prada – SPRING/SUMMER 2019 READY-TO-WEAR

“Art sometimes isn’t enough. We have to embrace other forms of expression,” she declared. The best thing about Miuccia Prada is her unashamed belief that we are here for more than skirts and tops.

There she was, surrounded by us vultures post-show, questions about bags and shoes flying around her head and this is what she said: Swing coats, palettes and miniskirts with knee-high socks and shrunken baker boy hats finished the grown up school girl vibe.

Emporio Armani – SPRING/SUMMER 2019 READY-TO-WEAR

Fusing together athletic wear with eveningwear, Emporio Armani’s spring collection brought new meaning to the term “athleisure.” From gauzy blazers worn with sneakers to baggy harem pants and sporty tennis dresses, the looks were a mashup of business meets streetwear. And although the show started with a muted neutral color palette, it ended with striking hues of neon yellow and cobalt blue that were meant to stand out.

Fendi – SPRING/SUMMER 2019 READY-TO-WEAR

She’s a little sporty, a little feminine; she still loves her capital F logo and her shirred mink. The Fendi woman has pockets labeled “phone”, “coins” and “keys.” And her top knot takes her from the gym to the office. In other words, she’s chic and effective.
