Let me just take a moment to say OMG with a regale feeling in my heart, #DarazFW2016 won my heart with an extra ordinary effort and creativity. Daraz Fashion Show being Pakistan’s first ever shoppable fashion show came up to my expectation just pretty right.
Daraz being a leading e-commerce platform in Pakistan since 2012 teamed up with Bank Alfalah, which is contributing a lot to promote fashion and talent in its own way came up with ‘DARAZ FASHION WEEK – PAKISTAN’S FIRST-EVER SHOPPABLE ONLINE FASHION SHOW’. I mean letting people shop while they see the outfits and accessories live showcased by such beautiful models is an experience itself.
Let me just take you through the event with details that no one would want to miss out about this wonderful evening. The in-house PR of Daraz, Saman Javed & Ibrahim Naqvi along with their team did a commendable job by gathering such an amazing crowd.
Commune Artist Colony – The place for all the creative people was the best option to host a next-level fashion show. Even the show was not as big as regular fashion weeks but all the effort could be seen. The event started off a little late, but I am sure there must a valid reason for it.
After a nice welcoming speech by Mr. Bijarke Mikkelsen – CEO Daraz Asia and Chief Marketing Officer – Mr. Aly Mustansir, show kicked off with a brilliant performance by none other than Mr. YBQ (Yousuf Bashir Qureshi) and super model Fia Khan, showcased a piece of art which was worth applauding.
After the spell-bound performance by the dynamic duo, show continued with the showcasing of Zara Shahjahan’s uber-chic collection ‘Indie Summer’ comprised of pastel colours with the fusion of eastern and western cuts. Fia Khan – The showstopper for Zara Shahjahan looked simply chic in floral pants and open sleeves jacket. Choreography looked beautiful for the act when models swirled with the music like dancing dolls.
Next was Feeha Jamshed with her collection inspired by the bohemian street culture. Collection comprised of monochromatic tones along with warm and cool tones looked simply stunning. Jumpsuit, flared pants, long shirts, jackets what not. A perfect mix of eastern and western cuts for the perfect summer. Every single model looked stunning while dancing to the up-beat music, doing justification to the collection.
Amir Adnan being one of my favourite designer stunned me one more time after FPW with his unexpected collection, which was no doubt unexpected.Fusion of eastern and western wear with colours like blue, red, white, black and khakhi gave us the winning colours for summer. Audience cheered and applaud when Georg Wolff – Global Business Development Manager for Daraz walked the ramp and looked handsome in eastern wear and when models walked half ramp and stood in the middle posing as a revolving mannequins. 5 stars for the collection and choreography.
Jeem by Hamza Bokhari – Rising Star Talent’s collection was simply stunning. Pastel colours and 3D leaf embellishment made this collection super likeable. Perfect semi-formal and formal wear for this summer. Slow-mo effect in the choreography was gave an edge to this collection.
Generation showcased a fusion collection of eastern and western cuts with traditional accessories and floral prints. My favourite pick was flared pants which I am totally getting this summer. Full points for showcasing such an interesting collection.
Next was Deepak Perwani with his spring/summer inspired collection with beautiful simple eastern cuts. Every single design depicted the essence of being eastern with a tinge of chic and classy-ness. Shahzad Noor was certainly an eye-candy for the audience. *at least for me he was*
Final act of the day was Tena Durrani with her collection, Uptown Funk. As the name suggested it was all about trendy and cool colours with funky cuts. Definitely a must have for every girl who loves to live life to the fullest.
To conclude the review I would like to say that every single moment from starting till end of the show was completely on point. There were some glitches and mis-management but the team work payed off really well. It was good too see the co-ordination between the models and the choreographer Fia Khan and the show director Muzna along with the whole team. Good job Team Daraz, really looking forward for more events like DarazFW.
