In May 22nd, 2017, a bomber blew himself up at Manchester Arena as fans were leaving after the Ariana Grande concert. 22 people were killed in the attack.
Following the attack, Ariana returned to the city two weeks later to organize and take part in a memorial concert for all the lives lost. Grande was made an honorary citizen of Manchester for her relentless services in the wake of the attack.
Now, two years after the attack, Ariana Grande is returning to Manchester to take part in the Manchester Pride Live event scheduled to take place on August 25th, 2019.
Chief executive Mark Fletcher and organizer of the event said “we’re truly honoured to be welcoming Ariana back to the city to help us celebrate LGBT+ life.”
