Do Darya, the food street of DHA Karachi, is located in one of the best locations of the city, on the sea shore. The open-air restaurants not only give the visitors a pleasant area to sit in, but the breeze of fresh and cold air cools the mind from the days stress in no time. But, are these restaurants ever safe now?
Do Darya, has now become a channel of entertainment for family and friends for 10 years now. So being an investigative journalist, I came to the thought that the open-air restaurant is built above the sea, constructed of wood and iron, mostly. As far as my knowledge lies, wood and iron don’t seem to stand strong under water for long.
Apparently, the fact that there is a check and balance doesn’t convince my concern. Are our concerned departments actually checking these sites and locations? Is it really true that there is a proper check and balance or are we waiting for any incident to take place? Is it always necessary for an incident to happen before any prompt action?
My concern still stands and a hope that actions are being taken for the check and balance of the security of the people at Do Darya; before any incident takes place!
