Are all social media sensations “shortlived”?

The internet is our go to place from where we acquire our basic information, knowledge, news and trends. However, social media has also become a platform for many controversies, distasteful content as well as bullying.

The recent trends of viral content is a great example. A simple video of a girl saying “Pawri Hori Hai” made rounds worldwide and that girl today has made her place in the industry, working with some major brands and is now a celebrity. On the other hand, a video of a girl dancing to the song “Mera Dil Yeh Pukare” is an example for all those looking for short lived fame. Sometimes, the content we put out may be perceived in a positive connotation however, in most cases, that’s not how it is.

The video of that dance was so viral that people started remaking it. Along with that, there was immense criticism. Now there are two ways one can utilise this short lived fame they have and turn it into a lifetime of either good or bad return. You can either build from this fame and secure yourself and bring a change or you can use this to out out similar content which will eventually die down as it gets monotonous.

The dilemma of social media “viral sensations” is one that cannot be ignored. However, it’s truly what you do with that fame which defines your life in the next ten years.

Until next time.
