Anonymous citizen of Karachi donates RS 1m to ‘Sindh Coronavirus Emergency Fund’!

A citizen of Karachi has generously donated Rs1 million to the ‘Sindh Coronavirus Emergency Fund’, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said Monday on his Twitter handle.

Along with the cheque, a letter was attached as well addressing CM who has been proactively leading the preventive measures against coronavirus in the province alongside Sindh government and officials from the health department.

Shah while appreciating the donor without disclosing the name of sender wrote on the micro-blogging website, “Such acts of kindness strengthen our resolve to continue fighting this challenge, & reassure us that humanity stands tall during such extraordinary times”.

 

Meanwhile, in the letter, the donor seeks anonymity and described themselves “a retired person of 88 years” of age.

“In response to your appeal, I submit herewith a cheque of a humble amount in face of unheard [sic] and dreadful epidemic,” they added.

Sindh was the first province to impose a lockdown to prevent the spread of deadly virus, the infected cases in the province soared to 394 as per the most recent update.
