Jhonny Depp and Amber Heard doesn’t really have a good marital life. She filed for divorce from Depp in May following allegations of domestic violence and a restraining order. After receiving the divorce settlement money which was $7 million on August 16th 2016, she announced that she would be donating the money to charity. On August 18th 2016 she donated half of the settlement to the American Civil Liberties Union “with a particular focus to stop violence against women,” and the rest to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where she’s volunteered for the past 10 years.
In one of her statement Amber said, “As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves.”
This has to be the best divorce so far I must say. It clearly shows that no woman will silently bear the domestic violence. Women empowerment all the way.
