Ahsan khan is one of the famous male actors of Pakistan, who has always proved himself with his continuous efforts. And now the actor is all set for an upcoming theater play in London.
Ishq will be an adaptation of popular folktale Heer Ranjha and Ahsan will be playing the lead role.
“It’s a Sufi/Pakistani musical and it’s going to be mostly in English. The story is an adaptation of Heer Ranjha, the main reason being that the play is a celebration of 70 years of Pakistan and [hopes to spread] the Sufi message of love and peace,” said the Udaari actor.
“Basically we are promoting the lighter side of Islam, which is much, much needed these days,” he adds, going on to claim that “it’s the first time that Pakistani theatre is happening in London.”
Ahsan explained that the play will feature three to four songs, which are a blend of Punjabi songs. The play is set against the backdrop of a village, in keeping with Heer Ranjha‘s story.
The play will be staged at Sadler’s Wells Theatre London from September 7-9th .
