Adnan Siddiqui, with almost two decades of acting experience under his belt, is now determined to channel that in his upcoming Bollywood debut with Sridevi starrer “Mom”.
Siddiqui, who was recently spotted in Georgia shooting for the film with his Indian co-stars, will essay the role of Sridevi’s husband in the upcoming film. He (Adnan) is playing Sridevi’s husband so it has to be something big.
“If the film has 120 scenes in total, he is part of 40 scenes out of that,” revealed the source.
Mom is a women-centric film that basically revolves around the character of Sridevi who is playing the role of a stepmother in the film. “She is the hero as well as the heroine of the film,” the source maintained, sharing information on terms of anonymity.
In the past, the 46- year-old actor was offered quite a few roles for Hindi films but, he rejected them all saying he did not like the roles.
He further said, “I have been part of the industry for 27 years and I have proved myself. I wanted to try something different. I wanted to do something of substance in Hindi film industry and ‘Mom’ was the perfect choice.”
However, having worked in three different film industries, the actor feels each of them is different in its own way. “All three have different mechanics. Knowing that we are the youngest and the poorest industry, content and acting wise we are better than the Indians because even with minimised resources we are achieving great things.” He adds, “One cannot copy and win the game, one has to find their own style.”
