It seems that Adnan Sami and controversy go hand and hand. Just when it seemed that people might have thrown him and his anti-Pakistan comments to the oblivion, he has managed to spark his name in the conversations once again.
During a Wellness Congress event, as stated by Deccan Chronicle, Adnan Sami revealed the reason he decided to leave Pakistan for India.
“I am a very emotional person. If someone lovingly asks me for my life, I’ll give it up. Indians have given me immense and unconditional love and I am very grateful. That was why I decided to apply for an Indian citizenship,” said the former Pakistani citizen – Adnan Sami.
On the other hand, another Indian daily, Business Standard has quoted him as saying;
“India is my karma bhoomi (workplace). I lived in various countries but my heart was always in India due to the love showered on me by the people. I had my own ups and downs in getting the Indian citizenship, but ultimately I got it and I am happy about it. I like India. My love is here. I am a proud Indian.”
Well, it is not even sad anymore that a person whose father – an ex-Air force fighter pilot- spent his entire live serving the country can so easily and proudly ditch on it. He did not even, for the sake of the country and its people who made him who he is today, thought that the immense respect and love he got here cannot be compared to any other “citizenship” of the world.
No matter what, we Pakistani’s have big hearts and we certainly tend to forgive such people for their naivety, and wish them the best for their future and life ahead.
