Millennial pink is a prime example of a trend getting so oversaturated that it swiftly went out of style, which means we haven’t seen as much of the color this season (tears). However, Adidas’ newest Falcon shoe drop is revisiting the color we once loved so much, but giving it a fresh new spin.
The new sneakers feature a paneled ombre of pinks, placing the famous hue alongside Pantone’s color of the year, “Living Coral.” The vast spectrum of pinks moves the color away from it’s twee origins and revives it as something cool. Additionally, the sneaker combines mesh and suede, creating a mix of texture all in one silhouette.
The brand’s Falcon shoe originally launched last year with Kylie Jenner as their spokesperson (before she switched to representing Puma, who gave her her own shoe). A riff off of Adidas’ Falcon Dorf sneaker that released in 1997, Falcon is the perfect mix of retro and clunky (a sneaker trend that’s so hot right now) with a contemporary vibe via the trendy colorways.
