Chanel is not just famous for their fashionable clothes but also the way they present their collection is marvelous. People always praise their effort for making beautiful sets but this time Chanel is facing a bit trouble by the environmental activists. According to them, Chanel has cut down century-old tress in the name of fashion, to create forest-like environment.
Not just on the runway but trees had also been chopped down to make rows of benches for the guests, including Hollywood star Keira Knightley, British pop singer Lily Allen and former French first lady Carla Bruni Sarkozy.
The France Nature Environment group condemned the show as “heresy”, accusing the luxury brand of trying to “give itself a greener image while completely divorced from the reality of protecting nature.”
They also said whatever point Chanel was trying to prove with their show “had failed. Nature is not chopping down trees in a forest, putting them up for a few hours for a show and then throwing them into a skip.”
“In buying the trees Chanel also promised to replant 100 new oak trees in the heart of the same forest,” the brand issued the official statement.
Well, such controversies are a part of the game but one couldn’t have imagined such blunder by such a big influential brand like Chanel because the brand has always created awareness through different campaigns.
