Sahir Lodhi’s program “Aap Ka Sahir” issued notice by PEMRA over vulgar dance moves

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued show-cause notice to Pakistan’s desi version of SRK ‘Sahir Lodhi’s’ program “Aap Ka Sahir” for airing vulgar and below the line dance movies.

The episode that has been issued the notice on-aired on 14th March and featured Mr. Lodhi along with a woman on the sets of the show. Both were found guilty of performing unethical dance moves on a LIVE show.

PEMRA in its notice has mentioned that it has been receiving various complaints regarding the content of the show over a span of months, and after the particular episode it decided to finally take an action.

Moreover, the regulatory authority has further said that TV One has violated the PEMRA Ordinance 2002, which mentions that private channels should keep a check on the content they air.

PEMRA has given TV One a deadline till 29th of this month to respond to the notice. The channel may further face the cancellation of license according to Section 30 other than a complete ban on Aap Ka Sahir with 1 million fine under the umbrella of Section 27.

Aap ka Sahir is aired every morning on TV One at 9 a.m.
