Hussain, who was elected on a PTI ticket from NA-245 in the 2018 general elections, had previously hinted at resignation in a Twitter post. Aamir Liaquat Hussain said in a tweet that he is a powerless Karachi MNA who is unable to give energy to the city’s residents. He further stated that he cannot bear witness to the misery of the people of Karachi and his constituency.
It should be noted that in 2018, Aamir Liaquat complained that he was not invited to a meeting in Governor House where the newly appointed governor met all of the party’s MNAs and MPAs from the city and was being deliberately sidelined due to his firm stance on issues that the people of the city face.
