Aamir Khan’s much awaited film Dangal will not be released in Pakistan.
The unfortunate Uri attacks led to a state of unrest in the country. While India decided to ban Pakistani artistes from working in Indian movies, the neighbouring country too imposed a ban on screening Indian films. In the last two months, Pakistan faced a loss of Rs. 150 million.
Despite the move of removing the ban from screening Indian movie, the distributors of Dangal released an official confirmation letter saying that the movie will not be released in Pakistan despite its move of removing the ban from screening Indian movies.
Dangal is slated for a release on Dec 23. The film, helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, is inspired by a real life story of Mahavir Singh, an ex-wrestler who is forced to give up his dreams of winning gold for India in international wrestling due to lack of financial support. The movie features Aamir Khan along with Sakshi Tanwar and debutants Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
