A perfect course for chocoholics — PhD in Chocolate

Believe it or not, but a university in the United Kingdom is actually offering a 15,000 pounds-per-year grant for the best course for chocoholics around the globe — PhD in Chocolate.

The course is being taught at the University of the West of England; teaching the genetic factors that influence the flavour of the U.K.’s favourite treat.

Students of the course will study the fermentation of cacao beans leading to specific flavour profiles, according to the prospectus.

The PhD course will be taught during a period of three years, created in response of the demand from chocolate industries for more forensic knowledge of different cocoa strains, The Mirror reported. Interested candidates may apply till February 27 to the university’s Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences in Bristol.

The novel chance comes close on the heels of the job offer by Mondelez International of a part-time chocolate taster.

The company, which posted the role on LinkedIn, is looking for someone who can taste its delicacies and deliver honest and objective remarks within its team of skilled panelists.

The chosen and lucky candidate will further help Mondelez to perfect and launch their brand new products all over the world for years to come.
